Program Model

The after-school hours provide a uniquely creative and entrepreneurial time in the field of public education. By teaming up with school administration and other faculty at each site, we are able to identify community specific needs and tailor programs to supplement the existing efforts at school. Our program pillars lay the foundation for our unique and effective after-school programming.

During the school year, on average our programs run for at least 3 hours after-school. The first hour of program is a Homework Help or Tutoring period to allow students to receive assistance and support for their school work. Following that, they are able to choose to participate in any of our offered classes such as cooking, art, STEM, leadership skills, music, sports, and many more.

Academics

We provide students with academic support daily. Academic activities include homework help, tutoring, and mentoring. Students are provided with opportunities to receive assistance with their school-day work, which they otherwise may not receive.

Enrichment

Through our various enrichment programs, we provide studentswith unique, experiential opportunities to develop extracurricular talents and build their social, artistic and emotional skills. Last school year alone, ASAS Hawaii offered more than 100 different enrichment classes for students.

Health & Fitness

ASAS recognizes that our students can achieve their personal best in school when they are equipped with the tools to lead healthy and active lifestyles. Classes provide diverse and structured physical and nutrition activities that teach children the importance of healthy living. Students also receive a healthy snack, daily, before programs begin.
